Event description

This course will be delivered face-to-face at the Ealing Education Centre

A one day course providing the essentials of food safety for those working in childcare settings.

The Food Safety Act requires that all food handlers are trained to a level suitable for their work. This course, aimed at level 2, provides additional information for those working in childcare settings, to offer specific information related to this sector including:

  • ensuring food safety

  • what does the law say

  • bacteria and its role in food poisoning

  • handler contamination

  • good hygiene practice

  • avoiding cross contamination

  • safe handling of formula and breast milks

  • avoiding major food allergens

At the end of the day there is a short multiple choice test to confirm understanding.

The course includes handouts of information for each attendee and a certificate of attendance.
