Event description | • To identify the indicators, nature and dynamics of child sexual abuse • Evaluate the impact of sexual abuse on children’s development including emotional and behavioural responses • Demonstrate a critical understanding of theoretical perspectives regarding child sexual abuse, including links with other forms of child maltreatment • Identify different sources of evidence and ways of assessing children including when there is no forensic evidence or clear disclosure and where children retract allegations of abuse • Demonstrate an understanding of the impact of sexual abuse on professionals, including the relationship between the worker and child and between professionals |
