EYFS RECOVERY CURRICULUM: PERSONAL, SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

Event description Against the backdrop of the impact of the pandemic on our children’s learning and development in the early years, these EYFS Recovery Curriculum workshops are designed to support early years leaders and practitioners with reviewing and reclaiming effective early years practice in the prime areas of learning and development.

These workshops build upon the recent workshop, delivered by the Ealing Early Years Quality Partnership in March 2022: ‘Circle Times & Objective-led Play Experiences’ (part of the EYFS Recovery Curriculum) with a focus on developing our children’s metacognition and self-regulated learning.

Each two-part-workshop will include opportunities for early years leaders and practitioners to collaborate; and share practice and ideas with each other (locality/cross-locality based).

The workshop sessions will include:

Part 1:


  • The Impact of the Pandemic on our Children’s PSED

  • EYFS Statutory Framework and Development Matters/ Birth to Five matters (non-statutory guidance)

  • Self-regulation and Co-regulation

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Routines, Boundaries and Expectations

  • The Adults’ Own Emotional Wellbeing

  • Influencing Home Learning Experiences


Part 2:


  • Celebrating practice; and sharing experiences and next steps

  • Trouble-shooting to overcome challenges

  • Locality collaborations, sharing practice and alignment
